" 16 16 SLC! ; 9:53 PM "

Hello guys,

today i went to watch my mum's ballet performance.

Heh heh I think dancers in general all have a very bitchy front.

I felt so =/ when i walked into the dressing room,

and lil kids with iPhones are scary.

Anyway,

for the past four days,

I'VE BEEN @ SLC!

STUDENT LEADERS CONVENTION, the 16th one held by Hwa chong and collaborated with Nanyang girls.

The guy girl ratio was 10 to 2 okay, 11 if you count my fac, seriously no joke.

But still, Fizber wouldn't be Fizber if it weren't that way.

Day One!

Before registration, we were @ the clocktower and we saw some Rafflesians with their school flags on the pole and everything, so we were like OMGOMG HOW.
but after SLC, one of my group members, who was amongst them, had to lug back the pole, and on the bus on top of that.

HAHAHA.
Luckily we neh.

Then we walked in to register, and I saw those familiar chiong sams, OMG! ITS ST PAULS.
When Jay said that they invited foreign schools, I didn't know they meant Hong Kong as well. I was super impressed! In my excitement I ran up to them, randomly and said hi. Yeah even though i knew none of the people I met there would come.

We got sorted into our groups, and I saw a few familiar faces, like Cheng Mun and Vernice.
Then we assembled in the auditorium(Hugeeee school): and to my horror, I discovered the guy girl ratio of Fizber.

We had a briefing after that, and man, i realised that i had no idea what we were supposed to do @ SLC,

Met Vanessa, the only other girl, she turns out to be 18! O: okay!
Yeah felt super out of place, but icebreakers helped a bit. Played Whacko, haha seemed to be one of the only few that knew it.

FIZBER HAD TONS OF PEOPLE WITH HARD TO PRONOUNCE NAMES! ):

After that we had orientation games, and we completed the most tasks! 14 tasks, but we got scolded by security at least twice, and we missed a road block. I totally didn't know our CBD was connected so well. Ran round and round, tired to the max! From Suntec to Marina Square for lunch, back to suntec convention hall for tasks, around suntec city for games, Marina Square, to Millenia walk, back to suntec and then Marina Square, to city link mall then suntec, for pick up point, then got chased to Esplanade. SIAN TO THE MAXXXX! ):

Wasn't feeling it, as in I wasn't my loud enthusiastic self. I mean what dyou expect, 10 guys 2 girls, confirm demoralised la, not cuz they're mean and all, but there are barriers yknow. Yeah, but nevermind.

Caught up with Kim and Nga Wai, we went the Macs @ KAP for McFlurries!(: I think its the nicest Macs in Singapore, and for once, I was actually glad to see McDonalds. THE PLACE IS ULU TTM. Shiok. The ice cream i mean.

DAY 2!

Mad work! Worse than any project work EVER done, and mind you, I've had the experience of more than 10 heavyload projects. Our task was to write two action papers within the span of 4 hours. omg okay... BUT WE PULLED IT OFF!

Our first paper was on the accessibility to social media, and our second was the impacts of misinformation. We wasted alot of time tryna assign roles and talk about the topic, but we finally got down to it. After lunch was our second paper, and we wasted like 15 minutes of break just to complete it.

it was the fastest my brain ever processed. And I couldn't think properly after my presentation. O: i was just at a loss for words.

Geez, the meetings were seriously formal, totally not used to it. The chairs actually had to be trained not to laugh O:

The writing of action papers was actually really funny, and it sort of drew our group closer together. I managed to lead the team of guys without holding back, which is kind of new, good i guess. I don't think gender should stand in the way of leadership, but leading in an all girls school and a mixed gender group is quite different, especially people you don't know, since you won't know how the others would react.

But anyhow, we got it down. And Raffles guys think IJ girls touch each other too much. HAHAHAH. I guess its sort of unconscious when you're in a girls school, but its certainly deemed something abnormal in public, holding hands with girls. AIYA ITS FINE -.- heh but what Kim Chew says, all the girls in our school are either boy crazy or lesbians. geez. Quite true la actually.

Our performance was really looking very bad. Nobody wanted to step up, and I decided to keep my head down, so perf got nowhere.Yepz.

DAY 3!

After editing and perfecting our action papers, we had our first youth network meeting. Our dear MASTER Jay was the chair. Haha. (: quite glad i knew people, and Vernice was in Youth Network A, so yep quite kewl, cept all the other IJ girls were in Network B ): Anyway, we had a larger version of the community meetings, quite repetitive and tedious. But the notepassing kept us awake! HAHAHA. Super funny all these love affairs, fake, sabotaged ones la.

We had phototaking. and more unproductive performance meetings. (Y) But the guys in my group finally let me in on a secret regarding certain people in Fizber hahaha. And I forgot my camera can you believe it! ))):

Weeoooh! Andrea didn't come today :'(

Didn't have dinner as planned!

DAY 4!

Last day @ SLC, I had a dream about the performance the previous night! And I was just dying to get the perf out of my head and materialise it, but then i kenna dao-ed hahahah! So after mass assembly we had yet another network meeting, and the address by GOH.

WE WERE SUPPOSED TO HAVE LUNCH @ 11.15, BUT THE DIALOGUE LASTED TIL 11.40. SUPER ZOMG. then we had v little time for prep, and yeah i finally spat out my ideas, but there wasn't enough time. Grand finale was super epic. It was hype and super tiring. I LOVED THE AUSSIE SCHOOL, AND KIM'S COMMUNITY, J, I THINK. GREASE LIGHTNING SOME MORE. hahaha and the Organising team + Facs' performance was hell coolios. JUMP JUMP :D

I miss SLC. I mean I just wish I utilised the time and opportunity more, and people in charge definitely have more fun. I should stop complaining that I don't get to participate, because after having a hand at organising, you realise there's no going back.

whoohoo!

I made friends with girls from YCD, mainly Natthida, Celina and Meow Ping, AND NOT FORGETTING SYED! HAHAHA. super fun bunch one. (Y)

(Love you Fizber!)

*I've still got all that fancy jargon in my head now

Arrival
another pack of lies that resides,
reach beyond silhouette skies
& i'm hopeful on fridays

And when the sky is falling,
don't look outside the window.
Step back and hear i'm calling.
Give up, don't take the fast road.
